ABOUT ME
Bekke Abe, LMFT 120734
Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT)
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in Medical Family Therapy. My clinical focus centers on supporting individuals, couples, and families impacted by cancer, chronic illness, and rare diseases. I integrate mental health and medical care to address the complex emotional, relational, and systemic challenges that often arise alongside health-related concerns.
For several years, I worked in a medical clinic alongside an oncologist, providing mental health services to patients navigating cancer diagnoses and other life-altering medical conditions. This experience deeply shaped my commitment to whole-person care and the importance of collaborative, compassionate support within healthcare settings.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from Medical Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Narrative Medicine. I help patients explore their stories, make meaning of their experiences, and build resilience in the face of uncertainty. For those who seek it, I also offer spiritual integration as part of the healing process.
Above all, I strive to create a space rooted in safety, trust, and authenticity—where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in becoming who they were created to be.
